Pow, Zip, Whoosh! 2024 certainly went by in a flash. We are full steam ahead into 2025 and beyond, but before we start traveling at warp speed, let's take a quick look back at what we have accomplished. If you've been a loyal reader of the Rewind newsletter, you already know that each quarter we serve up a new cocktail recipe that's been tried and tested by hardworking team members at Sagent (it's a rough job, but somebody's gotta do it, right?). The end of 2024 marked the culmination of 12 Quarterly Quench cocktail recipes, and therefore, we did what any self-respecting amateur mixologists would: we gathered them into a calendar to commemorate the occasion. Pear-ly Making It
Knock, Knock. Who’s there? It’s the Harry & David fruit basket you received from Aunt Edith. Oh, and what’s that spine tingling sensation you just felt? Why, it’s the sudden inspiration that perhaps you do know what to do with fruit in the winter...turn it into a cocktail, of course! Edith was always an eccentric, so perhaps that’s what she had in mind when she sent the cornucopia over to you. Regardless, this easy recipe will bring some sweetness to the bitter cold of winter (for those of us who have to bear it). For all you warm weather folks, we hope you're pear-ly making it. 😜
Ingredients
1.5 oz pear vodka
¾ oz lemon juice
¾ oz simple syrup
3-4 oz dry sparkling wine like Prosecco
Pear slice and/or lemon twist for garnish
Directions
Add pear vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup to cocktail shaker.
Add ice and shake well.
Strain cocktail into a glass.
Top with sparkling wine.
Garnish with pear and/or lemon twist, if using.
Note: If you're participating in Dry January or just prefer mocktails, try pear juice and sparkling cider in lieu of the vodka and Prosecco.
